Overview - Colombo Lotus Tower
The Colombo Lotus Tower (Nelum Kuluna) is a defining feature of the Sri Lankan skyline and the tallest self-supported structure in South Asia, standing at 350 meters (1,150 ft). Opened to the public in 2022, the tower's design is inspired by the lotus flower, symbolizing purity and prosperity in Sri Lankan culture. The complex functions as a hub for leisure, telecommunications, and conventions. Visitors can ascend to the observation deck for breathtaking 360-degree views of the bustling city, the Beira Lake, and the Indian Ocean. The tower also houses the 'Blue Orbit' revolving restaurant, a hotel, and various shopping and entertainment outlets. At night, the tower comes alive with a spectacular LED lighting display that changes colors, making it a mesmerizing sight from anywhere in Colombo.
