Overview - Goyambokka Beach
Goyambokka Beach is widely considered one of the finest jewels on Sri Lanka's southern coast, renowned for its picture-perfect scenery and unusually calm waters. Located just a few kilometers west of Tangalle town, this twin-bay paradise features soft golden sands flanked by rocky promontories and lush coconut palms that offer plenty of natural shade. Unlike many other beaches in the deep south which can have rough currents, Goyambokka is favored for its gentle waves, making it an excellent spot for swimming and a popular choice for families.
The atmosphere here is distinctly relaxed and less commercialized than the main Tangalle stretch, though visitors can still find charming beach shacks serving fresh coconuts and seafood. The beach's orientation offers spectacular sunset views, casting a warm glow over the turquoise water. Whether you are looking to swim in safety, lounge in a hammock under the palms, or enjoy a quiet walk along the shore, Goyambokka offers a tranquil escape into nature's beauty.

One of most beautiful and also complete beach I had in my life. The beach is very clean, the entrance is nice and long. Beach is clean, there was no trash at all. There are couple of small restaurants with nice staff waiting for you. Love it!

Beach seems to have eroded. Restaurants using sandbags to stop erosion and it blocks access to the beach unless you walk through the waves
